Drumcondra & District Credit Union have recently update our website.
We can offer our member's even more great services through our web site. The web site contains a secure area allowing member's to log in and view their account balances online, view their transactions, apply for loans online, use loan calculators and much more.
To use the secure member's area each member will need to Register for a Pin on our website www.drumcondracu.ie Here you can choose your own 6 digit Pin number. Once you have done this you can access the 'Secure Area' using your Account Number, Date of Birth and your unique PIN Number.
PIN Number
Apply for a PIN number online when you visit www.drumcondracu.ie 'Register for PIN'
Here you can choose your own 6 digit PIN number which will give you access to the 'Secure Login area'. Then you can access your Credit Union account at any time. Here you can view your account balance, recent transactions, print a statement, print application forms, use our loan calculator, apply for a loan online.
Just click on 'Register for PIN' on our Home page.
Nomination Form
As a Credit Union member you are entitled to nominate a person or persons to be the beneficiary of your Credit Union savings following your death. Under the rules, the person or persons nominated will be entitled to up to 23,000 including any insurance due on the account. Any balance remaining will be processed through your estate.A form of nomination in the Credit Union supersedes any will that the member may have. This means that the members should check their nomination in the Credit Union regularly to ensure that the person nominated is still in line with their wishes.
The marriage of a member revokes a nomination made prior to the member's marriage. The spouse is then deemed to be the nominee unless the member specifies otherwise subsequent to his/her marriage.

Taxation Options on your Dividends
Special Share Accounts;Up to recently, members were obliged to inform the Revenue Commissioners of the amount of dividend received on shares. The Revenue Commissioners then applied tax at the member's marginal rate i.e. 0%, 20% or 41%.
Tax payers can now opt to have a Special Share Account where by the Credit Union deducts Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT) directly from their dividend at the rate of 27%. This fully discharges income tax liability in respect of the dividend even where the member's marginal rate is 41%.
Regular Share Acconts;
With this type of account the Dividend will be paid into the member's shares without a DIRT deduction. Each member is then obliged to inform the Revenue Commissioners of the amount of dividend received on shares. The Revenue Commissioners then apply tax at the member's marginal rate i.e. 0%, 20% or 41%.
DIRT Exemption;
You may be exempt from DIRT being deducted from your dividend if;
- You or your spouse are aged 65 or over during the year, and
- Your total income for the year does not exceed the following amounts;
Single or Widowed - 20,000
Married Couple (combined income) - 40,000

LOAN APPLICATIONS
You can apply for a loan for any purpose with the Credit Union. Contact us and we will be happy to discuss an application with you at any time
You can apply;
- In the office with a member of staff
- Pick up a loan application form and complete it at your leisure
- By phone - 8379839
- Online - www.drumcondracu.ie (if you have a PIN #)
- download a loan application form online
All loan applications must be accompanied by;
- a recent bank statement for the last 3 months
- proof of your income e.g 2 recent payslips
NEW MEMBERS
You can open a Credit Union account with us at any time;
All you need to do is call to the office with 3 pieces of identification;
- photo ID e.g passport/drivers license
- proof of your address e.g. a utility bill/bank statement/government document
- proof of your PPS # e.g. P60, Social Welfare Book, Drugs payment card
Additional Items that may be needed:
- Rent book or Lease Agreement (if in rented accommoation)
- Proof of home address in country of origin, if non-Irish Citizen
- If Working, but not living in Drumcondra, proof of your employment
- If Studying, but not living in Drumcondra, proof of your college attendance
and fill out a membership form. You can also download a membership form from our website under 'Join Us'.
EDUCATION LOANS

PAYMENT PROTECTION INSURANCE
Drumcondra Credit Union members can now avail of payment protection on their loan. This new service protects your repayments in the event of accident, sickness or unemployment.Payment Protection gives you peace of mind on your loan repayments. Your loan repayments will be paid for up to 24 months subject to certain conditions.
The application only takes a couple of minutes and there are no medical questions asked.

CITIZENS INFORMATION
The Citizens Information Centre will sit in Drumcondra Credit Union one day each month for any queries or questions you may have in relation to any issues. They are available to discuss matters in private and assist with any information you may need.Please ask for dates when they are next in Drumcondra Credit Union.
